Philip Apaza / Managing Director
Phil joined Corporate Affair as Managing Director in May 2021, with an ambitious plan for the post-COVID environment and an entrepreneurial cap on.
Phil is an award-winning executive producer who has worked in emerging markets for 14 years. He has conceptualized and built large-scale immersive brand experiences and public events for corporate and government entities. From major A-lister concerts to product launches for Google, Toyota, Apple and Samsung – he brings experience and unique creative insight to Corporate Affair.
Steve McCafferty / Sports Director
A British national, Steve lives with his family in Dubai. With 2 young sons, Steve is never far from a cricket oval, rugby pitch or football field – which he loves!
Steve is responsible for the management of our leagues, community and corporate sporting events. His previous role was working as Sports & Events Manager at the Emirates Sevens Stadium. It goes without saying he is well versed in all aspects of event planning and league management across a wide variety of sports. He has significant experience in strategic development of sporting infrastructure in the UAE and UK and has been involved in many of the large well known sporting events hosted at the 7s. In the UK, Steve spent 7 years on the RFU Senior Committee responsible for all rugby related competitions in England.
We are very excited about the future of Super 6s with Steve at the helm and further developing our sports arm.
David Spours / Graphic Designer
After leaving his hometown of Newcastle in the UK, David enjoyed a brief year-long stint in Sydney, Australia, before heading to Dubai, where he has been happily ensconced for the last nine years. Starting out providing technical support for tech giant Apple, David moved into the printing side of things as a studio manager, before joining some of the region’s most highly-regarded advertising agencies. These include GMASCO, Saatchi Saatchi and CRE8.
David then went on and founded Cucumber Design, and developed an impressive client portfolio, including EMAAR, African+Eastern, RTA, Etisalat, Jaguar, Landrover, Four Seasons Hotel, Al-Futtaim, Dragon Oil and The Address Hotels. David and Cucumber Design bring more than 20 years of design experience to the Corporate Affair team, enhancing the comprehensive services available to our clients.
Victoria Hepworth / Board of Directors
Victoria is from New Zealand and lives in Dubai with her British husband and two young daughters. She left New Zealand in 1996 and has since lived and worked in Japan, China, Russia, Sweden and India before calling Dubai home.
Victoria has worked closely with various Chambers of Commerce in China to plan and manage their fundraising events and business social functions. She was on the Board of Directors (Events Chair) for the Expatriate Professional Women’s Society, the largest professional network for businesswomen in the region. Victoria was the Founder and Executive Director of LifeLine Shanghai, a not for profit telephone hotline established to support the expatriate community. In Sweden, she established the Professional Women’s Group – a platform for social and business networking providing 5-3 events per month. Victoria has also worked on content for numerous websites and is also the co-author of the book ‘Expat Confessions; 50 Answers to Your Real-Life Questions About Living Abroad’ which was published in May 2011.
Jane Sabugueiro / Board of Directors
Jane is a founding partner of Corporate Affair. She established the business along with Victoria Hepworth 9 years ago. Jane has recently relocated from Dubai to the UK with her family but is still involved from a business point of view and in an advisory capacity. She is particularly focused on the Super 6s and further developing Touch in the region. Jane is recently appointed on the Board for England Touch.
